I went searching around my Mother Goose Nursery Rhyme collections for an image to put on a poster. My favorite one is by Richard Scarry from his BEST MOTHER GOOSE BOOK EVER because all the characters in his picture are adorable bunnies. There are a lot of great looking vintage illustrtions, but those only ever represent white kids and that is just unfair to everyone else. His use of animal characters in all of his illustrations makes me appreciate Richard Scarry’s marvelous work all the more. The problem, though, with this image is that it was WAY to large for my scanner. After more looking around for an easier to access image, I came back to Richard Scarry’s. It’s just so much better than all the others. I decided to scan the image in sections and them puzzle them together. The seams are somewhat visable, but stand back a few paces and the brain stiches everything together. This technique will be nice to have on hand as a solution for using images that are too large for the scanner bed.
