Un-Birthday Song, an Illustrated Song
I made this WordDoodle for two events, but will continually use it hereafter to support our enjoyment of and connection to the song.
The first event is Saturday, January 13. We will celebrate the birthday of Mary Riley Styles at the Mary Riley Styles Library in Falls Church, VA. This will be a program of birthday (and unbirthday) songs!

A Sing Along Booklet for
Un-Birthday Song, an Illustrated Song

I have wanted to sing UN-BIRTHDAY SONG for ever so long, but could not quite get it all together.
But since I was planning to sing Alice in Wonderland songs for Hoot32 this Saturday, this seemed like the right time to really give it a go.
Right off the bat, I found a terrific instrumental sing along backing track. That was half the challenge solved. It was played a little too fast, but Audacity program helped me slow it down to perfection.
Then, for the book. A seller on Etsy had a set of vintage Alice pictures I’d never seen before. They were perfect. Besides that they were great looking, each character was maki g a gesture. This gave me an idea. I paired those character clips with some adorable cupcake clipart to make each character look like they see offering an un-birthday treat to someone.
Finally, add the lyrics, lay it all out, make a PDF, print it and VOILA! A new illustrated song is born.
I’ve watched Disney’s Alice and have been reading the book to get in the mood. I can’t wait to sing these songs!
