Songs in the Sing Books Repertoire and the things they do

Posted on: October 24, 2016

I love each song in my repertoire, but for different reasons.
Some are combinations (and to varying degrees) of selections of these attributes.
Some songs are just a rhymes and jungles, just for fun, to sing and pass the time, to delight, like a lark and a skip.
Some convey pointed, important messages.
Some contain amazing assemblages of words, images, vocabulary.
Some paint word pictures.
Some make beautiful sounds.
Some tell stories with beginning, middle, and end, that take us on adventure and carry us to new and interesting places.
Some enlighten our spirits and souls.
Some bind us together in common culture and belonging.
Some convey information and educational content.
Some enter our brains with thoughts and ideas and take up residence, building castles, communities, forests, gardens, and worlds.
Some enter our thoughts and brains to rearrange our thinking and make is better people.
