As I was working around the house the other day, I listened to this interview on NPR’s show “On Being.”

My ears perked up when Dr. van der Kolk said,
“…in order to have a mind that focuses, you need to move your body. You need to sing with other people.”
This was in response to the subject of Philadelphia schools de-funding arts activities in the public schools. That idea is unimaginable. I’ve not confirmed this fact. I hope it isn’t true that Philly schools have done this, because I believe what he says.
It’s the arts that make life worth living.
