The other day, I posted a “Silent Night” adaptation (which you can sing all year long) and realized that in my compilation post for the song, I’d not suggested any instrumental sing-alongs to use when singing the book (since it really is always much more fun to sing with music):

This adaptation mentions “angels” but otherwise has no specific religious affiliation. Also, thanks to Tim Warnes sweet blue toned woodsy nighttime illustrations and Juliet Groom’s lyric adaptations, this book can be sung all year long…not just at Christmastime.  It makes a nice lullaby and would be a good ballad to sing in a set that is heavy on upbeat songs.

This is an nice,simple piano arrangement of this song that plays for 4 verses, which works nicely with the Groom/Warnes “Silent Night” adaptation, which has 4 verses.

Many of the other books illustrate the 3 original verses of the song.  In that case, you could still use this piano instrumental, but just turn back to the front of the book and repeat the first verse.

For books with just 3 verses of the original song, I also like the “Silent Night” instrumental in:

This instrumental uses bluegrass instruments, has a perfect (not too slow) tempo and singable key.
