There may be some debate on whether these little songs are each a poetic COUPLET or not (Emily Dickinson’s couplet, for example, are the first two lines of a slightly longer poem), but, at least for my purposes here, these little poems make sweet couplet verses for lovely, fun, and thoughtful little songs. And, as such, and since I like to sing each with a variation of the same tune, they work together like an adorable set:

I do so love that April is Poetry Months gives us many opportunities to celebrate poetry in song. We sang a lot of poetry in Singable Picture Books this week, but a with a good mix of other song genres as well, in the classes of Mr. Grasso (3), Ms. Campbell (K), Ms. Morgan (K), Ms. Everett (K), Mr. Koppelman (2), Ms. Howard (2), Mr. Mitchell (K), Ms. Strickland and Ms. Coffman (two 2nd grade classes of joy!),

I read that this poem is in the form of a QUATRAIN:
*
But I also feel that it would be a COUPLET
A couplet is one of the shortest forms of poetry, consisting of two successive lines of verse that usually rhyme, have the same meter, and often form a complete thought.
