Here we have an adorably spooky adaptation of an adaptation, a fun singable for Halloween,

The Ghouls Come Haunting One by One
Traditional Tune: Sing to the Tune of “The Ants Go Marching” (which is an adaptation of “When Johnny Comes Marching Home”)
Words Adapted by Tom McDermott
Illustrated by Liz McGrath

And it is a counting song, too…which gives it a sneakily educational fun!  And, for all the spooky fun in the book, there’s a surprise of child empowerment at the end.
