Girl Scout Songs for Troop 2740

I’m excited to announce a new project that will likely have a lot of cross-over with the Sing Books with Emily blog.
My daughter participates as a Brownie in Troop 2740 and as a way of keeping the kids and parents informed and for the main purpose of keeping an archive of the girls’ activities, I started writing a blog for the troop last year.
I had an epiphany the other day to become an expert on Girl Scout Songs. As expertise and experience are gathered, I want to share everything with the girls of Brownie Troop 2740 since sharing music, learning, and fun are important factors in what Girl Scouting is all about!
Going song by song, I plan to write a post (much like the process for Singable Picture Books in my blog SingBooksWithEmily.Wordpress.com) which will include information like song history, videos, sing-along tracks, lyric sheets, music resources (and more!).
The lyric sheets will be posted in PDF format so that the girls can print them off and create a binder with all or just their favorite songs.
I’ve been a singer my whole life and that was mostly due to the fact that I was constantly surrounded by music at schools, camps, and, yes, Girl Scouts! It is very exciting to begin this process.

Please note that, working the way I do with the research of songs in Singable Picture Books, each post for each song is constantly evolving. I never consider a post finished and add and compile information and book images as I stumble on new information and resources.
