The Composer is Dead, a Book with Words, Pictures and Music
Posted on: July 25, 2012
“The Composer is Dead,” is, in my humble opinion, a wonderful book (hilarious, witty, and deceptively educational) which embraces music as an indispensable element of what makes life good. In my book, it’s right up there with Leonard Bernstein’s narration of “Britten’s Young Person’s Guide to the Orchestra” (for which, sadly, I’ve not yet discovered an illustration) and Ogden Nash’s poems for Saint-Saens’ “Carnival of the Animals.”
