The Songs We Sang in the Week of April 30 – May 4, 2012
Posted by: Sing Books with Emily on: May 8, 2012
A super delightful week of Sing Books when I got to visit the classes of Mr. Koppelman, Ms. Howard, Ms. Anctil, and Mr. Mitchell.
In addition, I got to sing with a preschool 4s class at the historic Falls Church (George Washington and George Mason were both members of this church before the Revolutionary War) in Falls Church, VA.
In Ms. Anctil’s class, I was so excited to bring “Grandma’s Feather Bed” in for the first time, having just gotten the sing-along music back from the always fantastic Paul (at http://www.MyRehearsalPianist.com), to find out that Ms. Anctil’s students already knew the song already like the back of their hands – including a comical “Ew” when the song talks about kissing Aunt Lou. I was AMAZED! Their knowing the song made my first time singing it with a group extra fun and easy since they knew the song much better than I!
In each classroom, we sang from this selection of Singable Picture Books below (listed in no particular order),
