DC Cabaret Network Members’ Only Showcase 2012
Posted by: Sing Books with Emily on: March 30, 2012
I got to help produce and co-host last Sunday night’s wonderful DC Cabaret Network Members’ Only Showcase celebrated at the Arts Club of Washington (held March 25, 2012). The “MOS” is a yearly event for “DCCN.” It is a performance opportunity open to any paid-up member of the DC Cabaret Network. There is a lottery date and the first 12 performers to enter the lottery get a slot. Last Sunday night’s crew of performers each did a splendid job. Also fabulous that night were Musical Director Alex Tang and Stage Director Michael Miyazaki.
Here, I get to share the stage with Alex Tang (at the piano) and Michael Miyazaki (my partner in crime):

Back Row (from Left)
Emily Leatha Everson Gleichenhaus and Michael Miyazaki
Middle Row (from Left)
Paul Pompeo, Lucille Forhling, Dean Reichard, Tim Gavagan, Joanne Schmoll, Charlene James-Duguid, Heather Frank
Front Row (from Left)

This is my Facebook Note in the DC Cabaret Network Facebook page about the event:
Dear Friends, I had a superb time last night! What a wonderful DC Cabaret Network Members’ Only Showcase!! KUDOS to each performer for sharing heart and soul, to Michael Miyazaki for directing the show and knitting the whole thing together in such a lovely and professional way, to Alex Tang who played so beautifully and with such generosity, to the Arts Club of Washington for hosting the event in their elegant setting, to the network/audience of people who make up the lovely cabaret community we all share, and to the DC Cabaret Network Board for being the foundation on which events like this are built and shared. Best wishes and congratulations to all!

This event was particularly meaningful to me as it was my last event as a Board Member of the DC Cabaret Network. I recently resigned from the Board of the DC Cabaret Network (after 7 years of service and hundreds of DC Cabaret Network Newsletters) in order to be able to devote more time to Sing Books with Emily efforts. I will remain, however, a faithful member of the DC Cabaret Network and practitioner of and evangelist for the Art of Cabaret.
