One of my Sing Books friends in Mr. Koppelman’s class told me there was a Presidents’ song and then she sang it for me.
Many THANKS to friend Shanna for introducing the song.
And, I just finished a book to go with it!

This book was inspired by a suggestion from Shayna Richman,
a second grader in Mr. Koppelman’s class
at Tuckahoe Elementary School in Arlington, VA

The musical arrangement was created by Emily Gleichenhaus
with help from Miss Richman, the students ofMr. Mitchell’s 2012 Kindergarten class,Kindergarten teacher Ms. Anctil and Paul Raiman.

The list of president’s names can be sung to a number of familiar tunes, like Yankee Doodle.  But my friend Shanna sang it in a tune that sounded like “One Little, Two Little.”

The Forty-Four Presidents.

Alt:  ”The United States Presidents”
Alt:  (When the times come for the people of the United States to elect new presidents, just change the number and add the presidents’s names to the end, for example, “The Forty-Five Presidents,” etc.

Alt:  You’ll also need to fit the president’s name into the end of the rhyme.  For the 45th and 46th presidents, one could sing thier names to the “…and many more” tune like at the end of “Happy Birthday” and keep doing that until one has enough names to fit in to the rhyme scheme of the original tune.
