The Songs We Sang at Tuckahoe Elementary School in the Week of 2/13 – 2/17/2012

Posted by: Sing Books with Emily on: February 18, 2012

A joyous week at Tuckahoe in Mr. Koppelman’s, Mrs. Howard’s, Ms. Anctil’s, and Mr. Mitchell’s classes!  We celebrated Valentine’s Day with Love songs, President’s Day with patriotic songs and African American History Month with songs celebrating artistic achievements of Black Americans.  We celebrated learning, poetry and sunshine.  We learned a little French, about what groups of instruments playing together are called, and, of course, continued our studies about the amoeba’s at the mixer.

I enjoyed that a cute boy asked for “The Flagella Song!”  He forgot it was called the Amoeba Hop, but what a great word for a youngin’ to know!

The children in Ms. Anctil’s class already frequently sing songs together in solos, duos, trios and quartets (see “Zin Zin Zin a Violin” below for more groupings)!

Here’s the hoopla!
