We had a wonderful time Singing Books the past week and a half at Tuckahoe Elementary School.
In Mr. Mitchell’s class this past Friday, the whole class of Kindergarteners sang “Fifty Nifty States” all by themselves and earned themselves a lunch bunch. Congratulations Friends!
Every second in every one of the classes is heavenly for me. Joy!
We sang a selection of the songs below in Ms. Anctil’s, Mr. Michell’s, Mrs. Allen’s, Mrs. Morgan’s classes. I was sad to miss Mrs. Howard’s class since both of my children were sick at home with colds, but looking forward to seeing everyone this week.
I like to share with the children that the songs below represent a many genres of American song, including The Great American Songbook, Folk, Broadway and Bluegrass. Many of these songs have important cultural relevance and are loaded with educational content like science, geography, poetry, history, music, art, civics, and robust vocabulary.
