A few years ago, I got to perform in a fun group cabaret at the Capitol Hill Arts Workshop (CHAW) and one of our group numbers was the Addams Family Theme Song.
I’d never before considered it as a stand alone song, but thoroughly enjoyed singing it, snaps and all, warming to the humor by associating it with memories of the TV show and with the terrific words in it. How often do you get to say “ooky” or a line like “They’re house is a museum / Where people come to see ‘em.” Great fun.
Ever since, it got me thinking about it and how kids would enjoy singing it, snaps and all.
So, I assembled a book. Apologies for stepping on anyone’s toes, but this is just for fun. Please only use this book at home or in a classroom for the fun of singing this kooky song. I got all the pictures from images online.

ADDAMS FAMILY THEME SONG
Music and Lyrics by Vic Mizzy
Illustrated with Images Available Online by Charles Addams
They’re creepy and their kooky
Mysterious and spooky
They’re all together ooky
The Addams Family.
Their house is a museum
Where people go to see ‘em
They really are a screa-um
The Addams Family.
Neat. Sweet. Petit.
So get a witch’s shawl on
A broomstick you can crawl on
We’re gonna pay a call on
The Addams Family.
They’re creepy and their kooky
Mysterious and spooky
They’re all together ooky
The Addams Family.
