SING SCIENCE SONGS TO FAMILIAR TUNES
I found a wonderful collection of songs online created by Ingrid Sherwood, a primary teacher in a Maryland public charter school.
Though this set of songs does not have illustrations, children, educators, and caregivers can use these songs to learn science content to the tune of familiar songs. Maybe children would enjoy illustrating these songs themselves!

Please use the SEARCH box of WordPress to search my blog for help singing tunes used in this link that are unfamiliar to you.
In fact, Ms. Sherwood has created a whole series of books filled with songs to help kids learn science.
Click here for her online “store,” where everything is free of charge and easy to download in PDF files.
This is a wonderful resource. Thank you Ms. Sherwood! http://www.lulu.com/spotlight/songsbysherwood

A note about the songs in this list and most of the songs included in this blog:
“SING BOOKS” IS SO MUCH MORE THAN JUST SINGING SONGS WITH PICTURE BOOKS. IT IS EDUCATIONAL AND CULTURAL ENRICHMENT
I like to share with the children that the songs we sing together (and every Singable Picture Book in this blog) represent many genres of American song, including The Great American Songbook, Folk, Broadway and Bluegrass. Many of these songs have important cultural relevance and are loaded with educational content like science, geography, poetry, history, music, art, civics, and robust vocabulary.
