Oh, What a Beautiful Day: Sing Books with Emily, the Cabaret: Three More Songs “In the Can”
Posted by: Sing Books with Emily on: May 12, 2011
We recorded three more songs for “Oh, What a Beautiful Day: Sing Books with Emily, the Cabaret CD” last night at Art of Music Studios.
The fabulous Alex Tang was also in the studio to record the songs with live accompaniment. Jeff Tucker worked his magic with the sound at his Art of Music Studios and, I’m always grateful that my director Judy Simmons is there. She is amazingly supportive and has a wonderful skill for saying just the thing to help me tell the stories with authenticity and authority, capturing clear and honest performances.
It was a great night after a terrible day! Thank heavens for small favors. It is exceedingly fun and satisfying to feel things coming together in such a wonderful way. I adore these songs. The opportunity to collaborate with dear and talented friends for a beloved project fills my heart with joy.
We recorded the vocal and instrumental tracks for:
