It’s Holiday Time and Singable Books Make Terrific Gifts (plus a few ideas!)
Posted by: Sing Books with Emily on: December 1, 2009
“Sing! Sing a song. Sing out loud. Sing out strong!” You can follow Joe Raposo’s advice from his song “Sing” by sharing with a child any one of the Singable Books in my “Singable Books, a working list” page.
Each of these books makes a wonderful gift for a child. Using the blog SEARCH, you can find posts with information about the songs, including sing along tracks which you can download and burn to a cd to package with the book (if the book does not already come with one). You could also use a digital voice recorder to record yourself singing the song and burn that along with the sing along track to make the gift extra special.
A few ideas…

ABC3D

(Sing along with the tune for ABC’s, then sing the ZYX’s [the ABC's backwards]. Then instead of “…next time won’t you sing with me” you sing “Now I know my ZYX’s, next time let’s all go to Texas” and the kids will LAUGH!!)
